What is KYB vendor verification?

KYB, or Know Your Business, is the process of confirming that a company is legally registered, actively licensed and controlled by identifiable owners before you do business with it. For vendors in Bangladesh, it means checking records with bodies such as the RJSC, the National Board of Revenue and the local city corporation, then screening the owners and visiting the premises where needed.

KYB, or Know Your Business, is the process of confirming that a company is legally registered, actively licensed and controlled by identifiable owners before you do business with it.

KYC verifies an individual person. KYB verifies a business, including its registration, licences, bank account and the people who own and control it. KYB usually includes KYC checks on those owners.

Typically the certificate of incorporation and memorandum and articles from the RJSC, a current trade licence, an e-TIN certificate, a VAT BIN, an IRC or ERC for importers and exporters, and a bank letter confirming the company account.

We review the company’s RJSC filings on directors and shareholders. Where a shareholder is another company, we follow the chain until we reach the individuals who ultimately own or control it, then screen each person.

Yes. We check that the premises exist at the licensed address, take dated photos and confirm the operation matches what the vendor claims. A video walkthrough is an option for lower-risk vendors.

Yes. Owners and the company are screened against major international sanctions and watch lists, and against local and international news for fraud, corruption or legal disputes.

Usually a few working days per vendor once the document pack is complete. Site visits and complex ownership chains take longer.

Yes. We track licence and registration renewals, re-screen owners on a set schedule, and run a full re-check if the vendor changes ownership, address or bank details.

Per vendor check, based on the risk tier, with site visits and monitoring priced separately. We confirm the fee in writing before starting.
