Fire, Electrical and Structural Safety Inspection in Bangladesh
Independent engineering checks of your factory or office building in Bangladesh. We inspect fire protection, electrical systems and structure, rank every finding by risk, and track the fixes until they are verified.

Definition
What Is a Fire, Electrical and Structural Safety Inspection?
A fire, electrical and structural safety inspection is an engineering assessment of whether a building can resist and contain fire, distribute power without overheating or shock risk, and carry its loads without failing, measured against the Bangladesh National Building Code and buyer safety standards.
In Bangladesh these checks became a buyer requirement after the Tazreen Fashions fire in 2012 and the Rana Plaza collapse in 2013, which killed 1,134 people. Today the RMG Sustainability Council runs this programme for many garment factories.

Three disciplines
What Each Inspection Covers
Three engineers, three checklists, one combined report. Each discipline is scored and reported separately so the right team can act.
Fire safety
- Fire alarm and detection system
- Sprinklers and hydrants
- Protected stairs and fire-rated doors
- Exit routes, signs and emergency lighting
- Fire separation and storage of flammables
- Fire licence, drills and trained fire teams
Electrical safety
- Main and distribution panels
- Cable sizing, routing and protection
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Thermographic scan for hot spots
- Generator and substation rooms
- Single-line diagram and maintenance records
Structural safety
- Visual check for cracks and overloading
- Approved drawings and building permits
- Floor loads against design
- Column and slab condition
- Extra floors or unapproved changes
- Material tests and detailed engineering assessment where needed
Methods
How Our Engineers Inspect
We combine document checks with on-site testing, so findings are based on measurements, not just what the factory says.
Thermal imaging
Finds overheating breakers, cables and joints
Earth testing
Measures earthing resistance on panels
Egress measuring
Checks exit widths and travel distances
Rebound hammer
Non-destructive check of concrete strength
Drawing review
Compares the building with its approved plans
Alarm and pump tests
Tests detection, alarms and fire pumps on site
Risk ranking
Every Finding Ranked by Risk
Not every finding is equally urgent. We rank each one so money and time go to the biggest risks first.
Remediation
Fixes Tracked Until They Are Verified
A report on its own does not make a building safer. We turn findings into a corrective action plan with owners and dates, check progress, and verify each fix on site before closing it.

FAQs
Fire, Electrical and Structural Safety: FAQs
Checking whether a factory can deliver your order as well? See the factory capability audit.
What does a fire safety inspection of a factory check?
It checks the fire alarm and detection system, sprinklers and hydrants, protected stairs, fire-rated doors, exit routes, emergency lighting, storage of flammable materials, fire licence and drill records.
What does an electrical safety inspection include?
Main and distribution panels, cable sizing and routing, earthing and lightning protection, a thermographic scan for hot spots, generator and substation rooms, and electrical drawings and maintenance records.
When is a detailed structural assessment needed?
When the visual check finds serious cracks, overloading, missing approved drawings or floors added without approval. A detailed engineering assessment then tests materials and checks the structure by calculation.
What standards do you inspect against?
The Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) 2020, Bangladesh fire and factory rules, and the safety standards your buyers use, such as the RSC technical guidelines for garment factories.
Do you replace an RSC inspection?
No. RSC inspections are carried out by the RSC for its member factories. We help factories and buyers prepare, close findings and check buildings that are outside the RSC programme.
How quickly are critical findings reported?
The same day. If there is an immediate danger to life, we tell the factory and the client before we leave the site.
Do you inspect offices and warehouses too?
Yes. The same fire, electrical and structural checks apply to offices, warehouses and mixed-use buildings used by foreign companies in Bangladesh.
How long does a safety inspection take?
Usually one to two days on site for a mid-sized factory, depending on the number of buildings and floors, followed by a written report.
